ANNUAL REPORT 2011-2012
Honourable chairman, Vidyalaya Management Committee Brig. Pawan Anand, Commandant, K.V.MEG & Centre and Madam Dr. Swapna Anand, Honourable members of the Vidyalaya ManagementCommittee, distinguished guests, Ladies & Gentlemen.
It gives me immense pleasure to stand before you today, on the occasion of the 49th Annual Day of Kendriya Vidyalaya MEG & Centre.
At the very outset I extend a very hearty welcome to our revered Chairman Brig. Pawan Anand, Commandant, MEG & Centre and Madam Dr. Swapna Anand, who have kindly agreed to grace the occasion. I am extremely pleased to welcome the members of VMC and our distinguished invitees. I also welcome the parents who are the source of strength of the Vidyalaya.
Ladies and gentlemen, I deem it a great honour and sacred duty to place before this august assembly a few facts about multifarious constructive activities of our Vidyalaya.
ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS:
The school has come a long way since its inception in the year 1964. KV MEG & Centre has classes from 1 to XII of five sections each. It has a pupil strength of 2597 and a staff strength of 90. The vidyalaya has been striving hard for its qualitative and quantitative growth.
CLASS X
“The achievements of an organization are the result of the combined effort of each individual”.
We secured 100% result with CGPA 10 ( 261/ 261 )
27 students secured A1 grade in all five subjects with CGPA 10. These young achievers have been given a cash prize of Rs 5000/-each by KVS along with merit certificate from CBSE.
CLASS XII: The Vidyalaya registered 98% result in class XII.
TOPPERS:
Ms. K.S.Divya of XII awarded merit certificate for being in the top 0.1% of successful candidates in English.
Ms. Manpreet kaur has also received a merit certificate for being in the top 0.1% in Hindi from CBSE.
SPORTS AND GAMES:
“Sound mind in a sound body”
During this session, the Vidyalaya, organized its 49th Annual Sports day on 12 Dec 2012 with a large number of track and field events. The Vidyalaya also participated in all major games and sports at regional level (Bangalore region) and brought laurels to the vidyalaya.
Football under 19 – Silver medal
Football under 14 – Bronze medal
Basket ball under 14 – Bronze medal (boys)
Basket ball under 19 – Bronze medal (girls)
Boys and girls were overall champions in Athletics.
41 Students represented Bangalore region at the KVS nationals held at LUCKNOW for boys and PUNE for girls.
I am extremely proud to mention that two of our students have also participated at International level.
Twisha Prasad of class XA represented India at Uzbekistan in Kayaking from 14th to 18th October and won silver and bronze medal.
Shikha Rajesh Gautam represented India in Badminton at the first station youth games held in China Dongguan from 5th to 9th October.
Sonali Gautham of class XI represented Karnataka under 16 Basketball open Nationals and also represented KVS at the SGFI.

Scouts and Guides:
“Your can’t make a place for yourself under the sun if you keep sitting in the shade of the tree”
In order to encourage the participation of the students in community service, and to create a positive attitude towards one’s social role, Vidyalaya has arranged scouting and guiding as an important activity.
Afreen. M. Fiaz of XII A and Sakshi of XII B have qualified for the Rashtrapati Award for 2012.
Four guides and two scouts from IX and X have qualified for Rajyapuraskar.
Co-Curricular Activities
“Talent is power, tact is skill. Talent is weight, tact is momentum.’’
The Vidyalaya has a full calendar of Co-curricular Activities to train and also give opportunities to the students to express themselves and to channelize their youthful energy into fruitful & creative pursuits. These activities go a long way in promoting qualities of Leadership, spirit of co-operation and brotherhood, and also inculcate in the students social, moral, cultural aesthetic values.
The Vidyalaya Morning Assembly programme gives opportunity to every student to face audience of peers and develop the skills of public speaking. It is aimed at fostering the spirit of Indianess in the students too. The Vidyalaya conducted the following activities during the session under the reference Calligraphy, Drawing and painting ,quiz ,Group dance, Recitation and debate to name a few .
In addition, the Vidyalaya observed in befitting manner the following days: Independence Day, Teachers day, Hindi week, Earth day, Science day etc.

This celebration was a productive beehive of competition and presentations by both students & teachers. It is indeed a remarkable effort of the Hindi faculty who organized competitions under the guidance of Mrs. Sathya Lakshmi PGT (Hindi) to promote Hindi as the national language.
The creative talent of the teachers& students of the entire Vidyalaya found expression in the release of class magazines from classes VI - XII.
Achievements in Science 2011-12:
KV MEG & Centre has always offered enough food for thought and hungry minds with educational aids, working models, exhibits and books on different aspects of science and technology.
Here are the budding scientists who have brought name and fame to the vidyalaya.
Bhavyashree of IX D participated at KVS national level Inspire exhibition on 17 July 2012 at KV INA, New Delhi.
Akash Adhikary has been selected to participate at National level science exhibition to be held from 24th Dec 2012 at Varanasi.
Regional level Science exhibition held at KV, Malleshwaram from 7 to 10 November 2012
Out of 6 models, two models got selected to participate at National level exhibition.

participated in KVS National Children Science Congress-2012 at KV Begumpet, Hyderabad.
SOCIAL SCIENCE EXHIBITION
Many students took active participation in the school level exhibition by making working models, charts, albums, painting etc. The best exhibits were sent for the cluster level SST exhibition at KV ASC.
Jane Oviya of 11th ‘A’ won the first position in ENGLISH DEBATE COMPETITION & Priya Jodan of 11th secured 2nd and Bansi Vishnoi 10th ‘A’ secured third position in HINDI DEBATE COMPETITION.
KV MEG proved its worth by winning 1st position in English Debate, 2nd in Hindi, 1st in Group Song & 2nd in Skit Competition on 16 October at cluster level.
KVMEG was the venue for many events in 2012-13
A few of them were Regional level Scouts and Guides Meet, Sports Regional level Meet, Principals Conference, Advisor Committee Meeting, Youth parliament and Regional Incentive award ceremony for teachers.
Teachers’ Achievements:
“He that labours in great or laudable undertaking has its fatigues first supported by hope and afterward rewarded by joy”.
Our competent teaching faculty is continuously enhancing their professional skills and adopting innovative teaching methodologies through various workshops, programs and in service courses held regularly.
Shri E. Jayachandran Vice Principal received Regional Incentive Award on 15th December 2012
It is a great honor for us that two of our teachers have been awarded Sir.CV Raman award for innovative teaching in Science.
Mrs. Chandrika TGT Science and Mrs. Geetha PRT.
Mrs. Syeda Mehar TGT Social Science, received the Divisional Award on 22 Feb 2012.
Achievements of Primary Section
The tiny tots of our primary section can also make some claims to fame.
1) Chetana .G of V- D won gold medal at KVS Regional sports meet held in GOA, National Taekwondo sports meet MUMBAI, Bangalore District level.
2) Karthika Priya III D bagged 2nd prize in Bharathanatyam at Dance academy held at Delhi.
3)Master P.Shashank III A won championship in karate at state and national level.
Out of two contestants in all over India, Master Aditya .G IV A bagged 1st prize, a Laptop worth Rs.25,000/- in Drawing and Slogan writing competition conducted by Lifebouy soap company.
Infrastructural Development:
Establishment of E- class room, renovation of third computer lab , a medical room complete with basic medical equipment is in place with a doctor and a nurse in attendance during school hours.
The Vidyalaya is committed to improve the academic standard & achieve 100% result in class XII through sheer and sustained hard work and with your kind co-operation.
Let us therefore, work together to bring up a generation, we and the nation can be proud of !
